Editor's review
MyInfo is a personal-reference information manager. It helps you collect, organize, edit, store, and find personal information like documents, random notes, and project-support materials at one place.
Pros: The application is a personal-reference information manager. It helps you collect, organize, edit, store, and later find personal-reference information like documents, random notes, and project-support materials. What it does is make access to the documents at a common place. One is able to add, edit, save and just read documents of one’s interest from the same control window.
The window has Microsoft Word like interface, with some controls added to make these different kinds of access easy. Whether the material is documents on the local disks, a tasks/ to-do list or web pages; they are all at one place. It is a very convenient way of organizing stuff for one topic- for a project for example. Along with the search facility made available and organization of information in documents and topics this reference system is easy to maintain and search for information in.
Calendar support is available for tasks, as is alerts associated with the tasks. Web-pages could be update periodically from the same management page. The management page or the main user interface is easy to use and is quite intuitive. Information could be encrypted and the application is extensible, supports third party import/export modules. Automatic back up keeps the documents safe from damage. The built in editor saves files in Word compatible formats and supports word features like inserting other documents OLE objects etc. Help and tutorials are useful too.
Cons: No obvious problems or short comings noted. The package worked well on the Windows XP. Not known if it is compatible with other versions of windows and if there are plans for Vista compatibility.
Overall: Good user interface, good functionality makes this application a 4 star candidate.
